Who I am
I am a recovery artist who has used the power of art journaling to help me and others in the journey of recovery and healing. I always found it difficult to connect with my feelings and verbally express myself. but when I found art journaling it was a huge relief to finally have a visual voice to help make sense of my thoughts and feelings.
As an art educator I work with young adults and adults to give them a creative tool to process emotions and feeling. I work in schools, the health service and businesses as creative consultant to integrate a visual process to support creative wellbeing programmes.
I work with young people to facilitate a safe space to give them a consistent wellbeing tool to visually articulate using art journaling. This tool helps them self regulate thoughts, feelings and emotions. Through a visual narrative Art journaling helps build resilience and empowers and becomes their safe space.
I have a background as a graphic designer, illustrator, childcare learning and development, teaching teenagers and after school clubs..
